Winch Design is thrilled to announce our collaboration in the exterior and interior design of what will be the largest superyacht in the world, M/Y Somnio.
Stretching 222m in length, with a gross tonnage of 33,500 GT and breaking all the records in the book, this unprecedented feat of design and engineering is set to change the course of ultra-luxury travel forever.
A collaboration between two of the world’s most esteemed design and architectural studios, Winch Design and Tillberg Design, Somnio will be the first ever ‘Yacht Liner’, featuring 39 exquisitely high-end apartments on board, offering owners the perfect combination of the superyacht lifestyle and 7 star hotel service.
Amenities onboard will include a spectacular 10,000-bottle capacity wine cellar and tasting room; a choice of restaurants and bars; and an onboard beach club featuring water-sports facilities. A lounge in the ship’s bow will also provide for spectacular views when sailing in scenic areas or when entering port.
Environmental sustainability and ocean research are also key focuses of Somnio, which is being built with the latest clean engine technology and advanced onboard equipment to help scientists and marine experts conduct their investigations.
Due for launch in mid-2024, Somnio’s construction is now underway at VARD in Norway, part of Italy’s world renowned Fincantieri Group and we very much look forward to sharing more information about this game-changing megayacht of unimaginable scale very soon.
