As we approach nearly one year since Flight Power opened their expanded facility at Plant 98, I had the pleasure of visiting their operation firsthand. It was a visit I had been looking forward to, and I left with an even deeper appreciation for the company, their culture, and their ambitions within the global MRO community.
From the moment I arrived, it was evident that Plant 98 represents far more than a physical expansion. It symbolises growth, strategic direction, and a company stepping confidently into its next chapter.
Walking into Plant 98, the first thing that struck me was the sense of intentionality. Everything from layout to equipment to workflow design, reflects a modern, efficient, and forward-thinking repair station. Their investment in advanced processes and new tooling shows clearly in each area I toured. Whether it was the CFM56, CF6, PW4000 component bays, the quality-control lab, or the clean and well-organised production floor, Flight Power’s focus on aviation excellence was unmistakable.
One of the highlights of this visit was meeting the team. There is a unique culture inside Flight Power: warm, hard-working, confident, and extremely united. You can sense the ownership each employee feels for what they do, and it becomes very clear why customers trust them as a long-term partner. Every conversation I had was filled with pride: pride in their certifications (#FAA145, #EASA, #CAAC, #UKCAA), pride in their combustor exchange programme, and pride in the successful ramp-up of Plant 98 over the past year. This isn’t just an expanded facility; it’s a place where people genuinely enjoy being part of something bigger.
Throughout the visit, several things impressed me deeply:
1. The Speed of Progress
Seeing how much has been accomplished in less than a year is remarkable. Plant 98 already feels like a mature, established operation.
2. Commitment to Quality
Their transparency, their data-driven approach, and the way they speak about continuous improvement reflect a true quality-first mentality.
3. Leadership Presence
Frank and the leadership team have created an environment that balances high performance with real appreciation. You see it in the employee interactions, the recognition initiatives, the cleanliness of the workspace, and even in the energy across the facility.
4. Customer-Centred Mindset
Flight Power’s focus on turn-time, communication, and cost-effective repair solutions was not just talked about; it was demonstrated at every step.

Plant 98’s first-year milestone is not simply a marker on a calendar—it is the result of vision, investment, and hard work from a team that is clearly aligned in purpose. What I witnessed is a company that is scaling in the right way: expanding capabilities, modernising processes, strengthening global partnerships, and doing so without losing the culture that makes them special. This is exactly the type of supplier and industry partner that makes MTB events successful: companies that embody capability, integrity, and forward momentum.
As I wrapped up my tour, one thought stayed with me: Flight Power is just getting started. With a strong team, a modernised facility, and a leadership group that pushes for excellence, Plant 98 is positioned to play an even bigger role in the MRO landscape.
To the entire Flight Power family: congratulations on an outstanding first year at Plant 98. Thank you for the warm welcome, the transparency, and the passion you bring to the aviation industry.
And as Frank always says: #TheBestIsYetToCome.
