Zeelander Yachts has opened 2026 on a strong note with the confirmed sale of two Zeelander 5 yachts during January. The 14.7-metre (48-foot) models are set to be delivered to Monaco and Istanbul, both highly visible destinations known for their lifestyle-focused yachting scenes. The orders reflect continued international interest in the Dutch yard’s signature approach, combining sculptural design with meticulous engineering and understated luxury. Turkey, in particular, has long been an important market for the brand, and the Istanbul delivery signals a renewed presence in the region.
Compact in length but ambitious in execution, the Zeelander 5 is frequently likened to a scaled-down superyacht. The model is finished to an exacting standard, from its multi-layer metallic paintwork to extensive soundproofing and carefully considered interior volumes. On the water, the yacht delivers a notably smooth and composed ride, even at speed. An extended beach platform further enhances the onboard experience, creating a generous waterside area more commonly found on much larger vessels.
Performance plays a central role in the yacht’s appeal. Power options include twin or triple Volvo Penta IPS 650 engines, offering joystick manoeuvrability and confident handling in confined marinas, along with top speeds reaching 40 knots. The hull design prioritises comfort as much as pace, resulting in a dry and stable ride that remains relaxed at cruising speeds.
With an operating range of approximately 450 nautical miles, the Zeelander 5 is well suited to extended coastal cruising and island hopping. Substantial fuel and water capacities support longer stays on board without compromise, reinforcing the yacht’s versatility beyond short day trips.
Despite being positioned by the builder as a dayboat, the interior reveals a level of refinement more typical of larger yachts. The deck saloon features generous seating and a dining area for four, surrounded by uninterrupted panoramic views made possible through the absence of conventional window frames.
Accommodation below deck includes two cabins accessed via softly contoured companionway steps. The owner’s cabin is arranged athwartships to maximise space and natural light, with hull windows, extensive storage and a dedicated dressing area. Forward, the guest cabin offers long twin berths, with both cabins sharing a well-finished bathroom complete with a separate shower.
Strong demand for the Zeelander 5 since its launch has positioned the model firmly between high-end dayboats and compact superyachts, where craftsmanship and design character carry as much influence as overall size. The two early-year sales underline that positioning and provide positive momentum for the brand moving into the season ahead.
Further activity is expected shortly, with the second 24-metre (79-foot) Zeelander 8 flagship scheduled for launch in the coming weeks.
