The highly anticipated hybrid Sirena 48 yacht has been introduced by Sirena Yachts. The new yacht, which builds on the range’s successful entry point, stands out for its strong electric drive, integrated solar panels, and attractive appearance.
Admirers of the Sirena line will recognise the new yacht’s sleek design, which includes a plumb bow and wrap-around glass windows. With her large deck and versatile three-cabin design, this is still the award-winning Sirena 48 however, the hybrid version has a low profile and sporty curves thanks to the new Coupé type superstructure.
By introducing this yacht to the the world, Sirena achieved its goal to provide genuine serial hybrid power to the mid-sized cruiser market. E-Motion’s twin 213kW motors provide the strength to tackle difficult situations without sacrificing your ability to navigate carefully in confined spaces.
A sizable battery bank with twin 39.1 kWh lithium-ion packs as standard and has the opportunity to hold up to 156.4 kWh of energy when two more packs are added. The efficiency and CO2 benefits of the hybrid powertrain are now available to practically any usage profile thanks to state-of-the-art power management and the dual 180kW range-extending generators.
Although it has a maximum speed of 14 knots, it can cruise at a more manageable pace of 6.5 knots with less than 35kW of power. The boat can travel 12 nautical miles on full electric power when using the basic battery pack, or 24 nautical miles when using the extended batteries.
Longer passages utilise the hybrid architecture. The Sirena 48 Hybrid Coupe arrives with the batteries fully charged and offers a 350 nautical mile sailing range thanks to efficient generators and combined battery power. The range is still a very respectable 240nm at maximum speed.
“The Sirena 48 Hybrid Coupe can operate in silence, with just the noise of the water on the hull to let you know you’re under way. No noise and no emissions become a reality, bringing owners and their guests closer than ever to the elements. We think that this elevates the joy of yachting and will appeal strongly to cruisers with family. And with its flexible range extenders, this yacht offers both stealth and range.”

The superstructure’s curved Coupé roof has two functions. The integrated solar panels are flush with the darkened glass, allowing the yacht’s battery bank to be recharged. Though the two finishes seem indistinguishable from the dock, the roof is fully equipped with 4.2kW of solar panels.
Naturally, the weather and the yacht’s position affect charging circumstances, but on a good day, solar panels can recharge the batteries with 10–12 kWh. This can lengthen the period of silent operation, either adding crucial extra miles under electric power or additional hours at anchor.
Being an efficient hybrid boat does not mean sacrificing the amenities that enhance the feeling of luxury when cruising the water. From its spacious inside to its ample outside lounging areas, the Sirena 48 Hybrid Coupe is actually the same vehicle as the Sirena 48 in every way.
The owner’s cabin spans the whole beam of the boat amidships on the lower deck. This tranquil retreat features a king-size double bed in addition to a deep sofa to starboard and a vanity table or workstation. There is plenty room for storing amenities in the ensuite bathroom, which also features a separate shower enclosure. A queen-size bed is located on the centerline of the VIP cabin, which is located at the bow. Additionally, a third cabin to starboard can be set up as a twin or double, depending on the owners specifications. A well-equipped bathroom is shared by the two additional cabins.
The large saloon that occupies the main deck is the hub of social activity on the vessel. The L-shaped galley and dinette are to port, and the navigation station and pilot seat are located up front. Dinner will fit six people rather comfortably, or you can move to the cockpit aft to enjoy alfresco dining. Alternately, you can make the sofas into a daybed or lounger by adding filler cushions.
You can access the spacious bathing platform with a variety of functions by descending steps on either side. Every model has a hydraulic platform that may be used as a tender lift or as a launch pad for water sports. The owner is then free to specify how they want to use the boat.
Dedicating the transom space to a captain or crew member is an attractive choice for owners who wish to provide some level of service on board. This space can accommodate heads and a comfortable single bed. Some will opt to have a swing-up transom lid that allows access to a big toy storage space. Another option is to have a seat built into the transom that folds down to provide a sizable sunbed at the edge of the water.
It is even possible to extend the cockpit seating area higher and eliminate the second set of stairs. Four longitudinally orientated armchairs, centred around a central table and able to take in the view to starboard, can then be placed in the asymmetrical area.
“We think there is no better offer on the market today for an innovative 48-foot family cruiser. Sharp styling, a highly flexible layout and the efficiencies of the hybrid propulsion system have never before been combined in this size and price range. When you consider the 1.16m(3ft 10in) draft and the modest height of the Coupé superstructure, this is a boat destined to open up inshore waters and waterways, such as America’s ICW or Australia’s Gold Coast.”
