Damen Yachting has begun 2026 on a high note with the launch of its newest Amels 60 superyacht at the Vlissingen City shipyard in the Netherlands. The 60-metre yacht touched the water on Saturday, 31 January, only a few weeks after being sold, and will now move into the final stages of construction, including outfitting and sea trials, before its scheduled delivery later in the year.
The project brings together some of the most recognisable names in yacht design. The exterior lines are drawn by Espen Øino, whose clean, contemporary profile is instantly recognisable, including the distinctive trapezoid-shaped windows that have become a signature of the Amels 60 series. Inside, the yacht features a fully customised interior by Winch Design, marking the studio’s 21st collaboration with Amels. The design concept takes its cues from the relaxed atmosphere and natural palette of Pacific Island coastlines, creating a calm and refined onboard environment.
Built with global cruising in mind, the yacht is equipped with advanced hybrid propulsion technology designed to improve fuel efficiency, increase range and reduce noise and vibration levels. This system is intended to enhance onboard comfort while offering owners the flexibility to explore remote cruising grounds with greater autonomy.
The Amels 60 platform itself is known for combining proven engineering with a high degree of customisation, allowing owners to personalise layouts, interior themes and onboard amenities while benefiting from the efficiencies of a semi-custom build. With generous outdoor deck space, a large beach club and a focus on long-range capability, the series has become a popular choice among owners seeking a balance between luxury, reliability and versatility.
Now progressing toward completion, this latest Amels 60 adds another chapter to Damen Yachting’s ongoing partnership with leading designers and reinforces the shipyard’s continued activity at the upper end of the superyacht market.
