Alaska Airlines has announced the appointment of Shane Tackett as President and Chief Financial Officer, broadening his responsibilities as the carrier continues to pursue its long-term growth strategy and advance the integration of Hawaiian Airlines.
The leadership change, which takes effect on June 29, 2026, will see Tackett assume oversight of Alaska Airlines’ commercial division in addition to the areas he already manages, including finance, fleet management, investor relations, supply chain, internal audit and information technology. The commercial organisation is currently led by Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Harrison.
Tackett has spent more than 25 years with Alaska Airlines and has held a variety of senior roles throughout the business, including positions in financial planning, labour relations, revenue management, e-commerce and corporate strategy. His promotion is part of a broader effort by the airline’s leadership team to strengthen executive capabilities as the company navigates industry challenges while pursuing future growth opportunities.
“Shane’s promotion to president of Alaska Airlines marks an important step as we continue investing in leadership capacity to execute our global ambitions and integrate Hawaiian Airlines. I’m proud of the leadership team we’ve built, and I’m energised by the work ahead.
Shane’s deep history with our company, industry expertise and financial leadership have helped Alaska navigate complexity, invest for growth and stay focused on long-term value creation. Bringing commercial and finance leadership together under Shane will strengthen alignment and accelerate our priorities as we continue advancing our strategy and creating long-term value for our stakeholders.”
– Ben Minicucci, Alaska Air Group CEO and President and Alaska Airlines CEO.
Since taking on the role of Chief Financial Officer in 2020, Tackett has played a key role in steering the airline through a period of significant transformation across the aviation sector. He has contributed to strengthening the company’s financial position and has been closely involved in major strategic initiatives, including the acquisition and integration of Hawaiian Airlines. He has also helped lead Alaska Accelerate, the airline’s strategy designed to support long-term earnings growth and create value through changing market conditions.
“I started at Alaska more than 25 years ago, and over that time we’ve built a stronger, more resilient airline with a clear strategy for the future. As President and Chief Financial Officer, I’m excited to help lead even more of this organisation as we continue executing Alaska Accelerate, growing our global relevance and delivering for our guests, employees and owners.”

Under the new structure, Tackett will continue reporting directly to Minicucci and will remain a member of the company’s Executive Committee.
The announcement follows several leadership changes made across the Alaska Air Group over the past year. These include the appointment of Diana Birkett Rakow as Chief Executive Officer of Hawaiian Airlines, Andy Schneider as Chief Executive Officer and President of Horizon Air, and Jason Berry as Chief Operating Officer. More recently, Kyle Levine was promoted to Executive Vice President, Corporate & Public Affairs, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, while Lindsay-Rae McIntyre joined the company as Chief People Officer.
