American Cruise Lines has announced that American Liberty, its third new Coastal Cat, has successfully completed its sea trials. Chesapeake Shipbuilding delivered the 100-passenger small ship ahead of schedule to American Cruise Lines. American Liberty is the most recent vessel in the company’s ongoing Project Blue fleet, which consists of 12 new small ships intended for American river and coastal sailing. There are now four more Patriot Class ships including the fourth Coastal Cat, American Legend, scheduled to launch in November 2024, in the building phase.
“American Liberty is the newest ship in our fleet, reflecting our ongoing commitment to building small innovative ships for America’s rivers and coasts.”
Charles B. Robertson, President & CEO of American Cruise Lines.
Next month, American Liberty will embark on its maiden voyage, sailing round-trip from Providence, Rhode Island, on the well-liked New England Islands itinerary of the firm. The voyage will begin on August 15. The cruise also stops at Block Island, Newport, and Bristol, RI; New Bedford, Nantucket, and Martha’s Vineyard, MA. Along with the summer itinerary through New England, American Liberty will sail a number of American’s exclusive U.S. itineraries along the East Coast through 2024. These cruises combine the convenience of visiting only U.S. ports of call with the luxury of river cruising and the accessibility and adventure of expedition cruising.
American Liberty launches in 2023, not far behind sister ships American Eagle and American Glory. As the newest vessel in the country, it is indicative of the Line’s continued success in the market, fleet growth, and exceptional capacity to navigate a wide range of American itineraries along both rivers and coasts. The number of small ships in American service has increased yearly thanks to innovative designs that provide previously unheard-of accommodations for small vessels. The company operates the world’s only fleet of riverboats and small cruise ships flying the flag of the United States.
With four decks and a catamaran bow similar to its sibling ships, American Liberty can accommodate a maximum of 100 people. It offers spacious single and double occupancy guestrooms, suites, and private balconies along with sophisticated interior design. Unusual amenities for a ship of its size, American Liberty also features a large restaurant, casual café, fitness centre, and a beautiful top deck with amazing views.
