Cantiere Delle Marche (CdM) is excited to announce that a US client has purchased a second Flexplorer 165. This project will showcase their unmatched skill in building high-performance, personalised boats that satisfy the particular tastes of their discerning clientele.
The most recent Flexplorer 165 is the perfect example of CdM’s dedication to customisation and innovation. They will use creativity and problem-solving skills to satisfy the Owner’s demands.
A standard pickleball court is one of the Owner’s special requirements, which calls for considerable structural changes to the reference model. CdM have created a unique design by extending the Upper deck overhang in order to accommodate it. To keep balls from falling overboard, a net and lightweight carbon fibre construction encircles the pickleball court. Two specific viewing spots are available for spectators to enjoy the game from: one on the upper deck, next to the court, and another from the sun deck that offers a “sky-view”. In addition, the upper deck is designed and furnished to enable touch-and-go EC130 helicopter operations.
Along with creating a sizable shaded area on the Main deck, the extended upper deck also houses a 7-meter tender and jet skis that are deployed using an overhead crane. The area becomes an luxurious outdoor lounge area with a bar, heated pool, free-standing furnishings and collapsable bulwarks while both tenders and jet skis are in the water. Two more 5-meter tenders are kept on the upper deck, and there is space on the sun deck for two more jet skis.
CdM have designed two specific locations for recreational equipment storage to accommodate the Owner’s active lifestyle on land and on the water: one within the crew area on the lower deck and another in the lazarette beneath the main deck. A hull door provides convenient access to this second space for loading supplies, which are subsequently kept in a walk-in freezer and a dedicated galley area. There is also a waste storage locker available that can hold trash for a maximum of two weeks.
The lower, main and upper decks are all served by a lift, reflecting the importance of accessibility. The vessel has first-rate wellness amenities, including a massage and fitness centre on the top deck and a thermal therapy area with an ice tub pool and sauna on the sun deck that is heated to a temperature between 8°C and 12°C.
With two Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines providing 970 kW at 1800 rpm, the Flexplorer 165 boasts impressive performance, with a top speed of 15 knots and a range of 4800 nautical miles at 10 knots.
Accommodations for the crew are provided in five rooms and a captain’s cabin, with four guest cabins located on the lower deck and an owner’s cabin located on the main deck.
The creative naval architecture and exterior design by HydroTec, the elegant interior design by Design Unlimited, and the experience of Christian Bakewell of Burgess, who presented the customer, all contributed to the sale of this project.
“It’s been a privilege to work with the Owner on this project. From our first conversation, it was clear that the Flexplorer 165 was the perfect match for him. We have successfully integrated all his favourite sports activities and his lifestyle into the yacht without any compromises.”
Carlo Aquilanti, CdM’s Sales Manager for CdM.
