Announced earlier this week, Virgin Australia and All Nippon Airways (ANA) will be significantly expanding their partnership. Both carriers will benefit from increased levels of codeshare cooperation in addition to a series of member loyalty benefits and seamless travel between their networks.
Velocity Frequent Flyer members can now earn Points and Status Credits when travelling on ANA operated flights. 130 destinations are included across Japan, Asia, North America and Europe. Guests will also be able to book air fairs ANA operated flights between Australia and Japan with Virgin Australia.
This announcement follows the introduction of Virgin Australia starting their service between Cairns and Tokyo last month. Virgin Australia’s partnership with ANA will unlock benefits across 12 domestic connections for travellers within Japan, including Sapporo, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Osaka-Itami, Kochi, Osaka-Kansai, Kumamoto, Nagoya, Nagasaki, Oita, Okinawa and Miyazaki.
How will this benefit Virgin Atlantic Velocity Members?
Celebrating this announcement, members of the program will earn 20% bonus points on selected ANA flights between Sydney and Tokyo, if the Velocity member activates this offer by 1 August 2023 and books and travels between 18 July and 31 December 2023.
Nick Rohrlach, Velocity Frequent Flyer CEO has said that the expanded partnership is a significant milestone for international network growth through its world-leading partners.
“From today, our 11.5 million members can earn Points and Status Credits on flights to more than 130 additional destinations through ANA’s global network across Japan, Asia, North America and Europe.
We are laser focused on securing new ways for our members to earn Points and we know that Japan is an Australian favourite for holidaying and business travel.”
