A codeshare agreement has been signed between ITA Airways, the national carrier of Italy, and All Nippon Airways, the largest carrier in Japan, to connect their networks.
Customers of both companies will benefit from increased travel choices thanks to the new commercial partnership, as they will have improved connectivity via the hubs of Rome Fiumicino and Tokyo Haneda.
Effective January 24th, all passengers flying on Nippon Airways and ITA Airways will be able to book a single ticket, check in at the departing airport, and pick up their checked luggage at the final destination airport.
All Nippon Airways’ “NH” code will be applied to ITA Airways’ flight between Haneda and Rome, as well as five Italian destinations connected to Rome Fiumicino Airport (Bologna, Venice, Turin, Florence, and Naples). The “AZ” code will be added by ITA Airways to six domestic Japanese destinations (Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Itami, Kansai, Okinawa, and Sapporo). The respective codes will go on sale on January 17. In the near future, ANA and ITA want to add more codes as a way to further deepen their cooperation.
With this agreement, Italy and Japan will be able to expand their economic and commercial ties while providing Italian tourists with a wide range of opportunities to explore Japan’s wonders and Japanese citizens with easy access to Italy while maintaining the highest standards of safety.
