Power Capital Renewable Energy has selected Voltalia to build, operate and maintain four photovoltaic projects located in the south-east of the Republic of Ireland with a total capacity of 230 megawatts.
The four projects are currently under construction with the smaller sites to be completed in 2023 and the larger to be completed in 2024. The electric power supplied by the photovoltaic plants will be sold through long term contracts within the tech sector. Once completed, Voltalia will operate and maintain the facilities on behalf of Power Capital for 15 years.

County Cork’s Lysaghtstown plant will become the largest solar farm in the Republic of Ireland with a capacity of 131 megawatts. The three remaining projects will be the Tullabeg plant in County Wexford with a capacity of 83.9 megawatts, the Painestown plant in County Meath with a capacity of 9.3 megawatts and the Beaulieu plant in County Louth will have a capacity of 6.6 megawatts.
As a result of the new projects, Power Capital Renewable Energy, Voltalia and their contractors will employ up to 400 people onsite. Each plant will be supported by Voltalia’s offices in Portugal, where Voltalia has established a Global Solar Hub, supporting clients around the world. The expert team from Voltalia is made up of over 200 people in the fields of photovoltaic engineering, procurement, construction, production management, maintenance and distribution.
