A new collaboration between Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation (Yang Ming) and PSA International (PSA) aims to support the decarbonisation of global supply chains through the development of lower-carbon solutions across the maritime sector.
The two organisations have formalised their partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), with the agreement signed by Ivan Chiang, Chief Logistics Officer & Senior Vice President of Yang Ming, and Eddy Ng, Group Head of Operations, Technology and Sustainability at PSA International. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Kevin Lee, President of Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation, and Ong Kim Pong, Group CEO of PSA International, highlighting the companies’ joint ambition to accelerate sustainability initiatives throughout the end-to-end supply chain.
The collaboration will focus on expanding decarbonisation efforts beyond ocean transport by combining maritime and landside capabilities. As part of the agreement, the partners will work together on a digital Book-and-Claim framework alongside a joint maritime-land inset token package. The initiative is designed to provide cargo owners and other stakeholders with a transparent and verifiable approach to reducing supply chain emissions while supporting progress towards sustainability goals.

Yang Ming has continued to invest in measures aimed at improving environmental performance through energy efficiency and emissions reduction. By the end of 2025, the company reported a 63.32% reduction in carbon intensity compared with 2008 levels. Building on this progress, Yang Ming introduced its EcoSea+ green transport service, which integrates low-carbon shipping solutions to help customers reduce Scope 3 transportation emissions. Through its partnership with PSA, the company intends to extend the reach of these sustainability initiatives beyond the maritime segment.
PSA, one of the world’s leading port operators, is pursuing its Node to Network strategy by integrating port and supply chain operations to create a more connected and sustainable logistics network. The company says this approach supports lower emissions across both terminal and inland operations, contributing to greener end-to-end supply chains.
