The 81-meter (264 foot) sailing yacht Noir, built by Dutch custom superyacht manufacturer Royal Huisman, breaks records once more with the new contract for Project 411. A skilled owner and his team created Noir so they may enjoy sailing with their closest friends and family.

With a height of 93 metres (305 feet), this Malcolm McKeon design will have the tallest sloop rig in the world. Constructed to fulfil the shipyard’s goal of providing “the ultimate expression of personal freedom,” this one-of-a-kind boat is intended for global cruising and discovery.

With a reverse bow for optimum waterline length and a flying bridge for ample outdoor living space, her profile will showcase McKeon’s modern styling. The guests will be able to stay connected to the water with large glass sections and folding platforms. The owner of Noir has created a brief that includes responsive handling, power, and speed. In order to enable coastal exploration and to convey guests and food without repositioning the yacht closer to a harbour, the vessel is specifically sized to hold a 14-meter/45-foot tender. The yacht’s specifications include the fact that electric drives will provide auxiliary power and that the vessel will be entirely made of aluminium. The integrated sailing system, boom, and mast will all be supplied by Rondal. She’s going to have all black windows and deck gear in keeping with her code name, Noir.

When finished, the yacht will be one of the top ten largest sailing yachts in the world. The air draft is nearly 4 metres / 14 feet higher than the existing tallest rig, securing the top spot as the world’s tallest sloop with a mast height of 93 metres / 305 feet.

“We are very pleased to be building again at Royal Huisman. Having built our award-winning 59.7-metre / 196-foot Sarissa there, we are well acquainted with the shipyard’s engineering skills, innovations, and the level of craftsmanship.”

Malcolm McKeon, Yacht designer.

Although the interior of the yacht is currently unknown, GCA Architects of Barcelona, Spain, a company known for its modern approach to residential and commercial buildings, is developing the design. Among its noteworthy accomplishments are the world’s first platinum-certified LEED building and the first “smart” building in Spain. The interior, according to designer Josep Juanpere Miret, will blend wood with other natural materials and textures to create a calm yet opulent atmosphere that complements the exterior’s contemporary flair.

“The capabilities of Royal Huisman can be seen in various ways, with no doubt the most important proof point being that we are selected by knowledgeable owners as the builder for their incredible and unique yachts. I am pleased and humbled that we can highlight Royal Huisman’s 140th year of operation with the announcement of such a significant project.

Of the hundreds of vessels our shipyard has delivered in its history, Project 411 will be our fourth yacht in the ranks of world’s Top 10 largest sailing yachts.”

Jan Timmerman, CEO for Royal Huisman.
