Cadeler is strengthening its position in the offshore wind installation market with the addition of two new T-class vessels, following the securing of equity financing for the investment earlier this year. The move forms part of the company’s wider fleet expansion strategy and is intended to support the growing scale and complexity of offshore wind projects across key markets.
The two vessels are being developed with COSCO Shipping Offshore shipyard, continuing an established relationship between the two companies. COSCO Shipping Offshore has already delivered several vessels as part of Cadeler’s ongoing newbuild programme, with the latest agreement further extending their collaboration. The contract has been agreed on competitive commercial terms, with the two T-class vessels carrying a combined contract value of approximately EUR 805 million.
The T-class has been designed to meet the evolving requirements of the offshore wind sector, with the vessels set to be the largest and most capable ships Cadeler has introduced to the market. Their design incorporates new technologies and operational capabilities intended to improve efficiency, flexibility and performance when working on increasingly complex offshore wind projects.
