Subsea7 has been awarded a significant contract by Equinor for work on the Fram Sør field development, located off the coast of Norway.
The contract, classified by Subsea7 as “large”, with a value estimated between $300 million and $500 million, includes engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) services for various subsea systems. The scope encompasses the delivery and installation of 53 kilometres of production pipelines, gas lift lines, and water injection systems, in addition to the installation of the associated umbilicals.
This agreement builds on a prior front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract awarded on 9 January 2025, which focused on finalising the technical aspects of the development.
Subsea7 will kick off engineering and project management activities immediately, with teams based in both Norway and the UK. Offshore installation phases are scheduled to take place across 2026, 2027, and 2028.
The Fram Sør site lies approximately 10 to 30 kilometres north of Equinor’s Troll C platform and around 70 kilometres northwest of Bergen. The new development will link into the existing infrastructure serving the Fram and Troll C fields.
“This award continues our long-standing collaboration with Equinor. The FEED study enabled Subsea7 to engage early in the field development process, optimising design solutions and contributing to the final investment decision. We look forward to working closely with Equinor to deliver the Fram Sør development safely and efficiently.”
Erik Femsteinevik, Vice President for Subsea 7 Norway.
The contract remains subject to final approval of the Plan for Development and Operation (PDO) by the relevant authorities.
