Red Square Medical, experts in delivering medical training for seafarers, has been appointed as a training partner by MedAire, the leading supplier of worldwide health, security, and medical assistance onboard superyachts, as part of a larger effort to strengthen and expand their medical training offering. Red Square Medical will gradually take over the management and coordination of MedAire’s sailboat medical training starting in April 2024.
As a result of the partnership, MedAire clients will gain access to a larger group of specialist marine medical instructors, who share the same rigorous training standards as MedAire instructors. Additionally, there will be a dedicated team responsible for organising training logistics, and clients will have improved availability at peak times.
“To support the growth of our global onboard medical training programme, we were looking for a company with a similar philosophy to MedAire. We had been following Red Square Medical for some time and we were drawn to their engaging, educational approach and their passion for maritime medical training. Even more importantly, their understanding of the demands and competing priorities of our industry, and ability to find solutions to meet changing needs was evident.
This partnership has been six months in the making and will be implemented through a phased approach, to make the transition seamless for clients. We look forward to working with Red Square Medical expanding our pool of world-class instructors and combining our expertise to provide bespoke solutions for our clients.”
Emma Deal, Director of Account Management for Luxury Yachts at MedAire.
“We are delighted to have been chosen by MedAire to develop this exciting part of the business with them. Red Square Medical already works in the superyacht and expedition vessel arena, so we see this relationship as a natural progression of our own business.
Our in-depth understanding of the demands of the maritime environment and of this sector overall, means that Red Square Medical is ideally positioned to take this vital part of MedAire’s offering further. We are very excited to be implementing this project and working with MedAire instructors and clients to coordinate and deliver their world class onboard medical training. We put a lot of effort into selecting the right instructors to provide maritime medical training and our aim is to support and develop the team with training and placement opportunities, enabling them to deliver the perfect experience for each client.”
Liz Baugh, Lead Medical Consultant at Red Square Medical.
It is anticipated that the project, which will be introduced as a phased approach, will be completed by September 2024.
